Defense S&T Reliance provides the framework and assessment process to enable the DoD S&T community to coordinate their efforts in order to enhance the Defense S&T program and eliminate unwarranted duplication. For the past ten years, SA has directly supported the Reliance Executive Staff in conducting the day to day operations of Reliance on behalf of the Defense Science & Technology Group, which is made up of the Services and Agencies Executives. Reliance allows the Department of Defense, particularly the Director, Defense Research & Engineering, to ensure the alignment of the Components' S&T Plans and Strategies with the overall DoD S&T priorities. Key Reliance products include the Basic Research Plan, the Defense Technology Area Plan, the Joint Warfighter Science & Technology Plan, the Defense Technology Objectives, and the DTO Success Stories.
