4. Defense Advisory Committee on Military Compensation, USD (AT&L), April 2005-April 2006
The Defense Advisory Committee on Military Compensation was formed by the Secretary of Defense to provide assistance and advice on matters pertaining to military compensation. More specifically, the committee was asked to identify approaches to balance military pay and benefits that will be most effective in meeting the needs of the nation in both peace and war and in sustaining a high-quality force. After a year of research and study, the committee developed an architecture which updates the current system of compensating America's military personnel. This modernized architecture allows for broader and more judicious flexibilities for unforeseen circumstances, provides greater opportunity for managing diverse military careers, rewards performance, and simplifies the system where appropriate.
In 2005-2006, Strategic Analysis provided report integration and writing support to the Defense Advisory Committee on Military Compensation, helping to shape the presentation of the committee's findings and recommendations. As a member of the DACMC staff, SA personnel were involved in all meetings of the Committee and participated in deliberations among the Committee members throughout the year during which the Committee met.
