5. Workshops on International Science National Science Board, 20 March 2006 - 30 September 2007
SA is pleased to be able to serve the NSB and the NSBO in planning and executing a series of public workshops on international science and engineering. The workshops will examine the experiences of various U.S. Government agency international science and engineering (S&E) partnership programs with respect to their effectiveness in furthering research advancements; their experience in utilizing S&E partnerships as vehicles for achieving more than research advances (i.e., improved relationships between countries; capacity building; and environmental awareness); and the level of inter-agency coordination.
SA contributed background materials for each workshop and coordinated participant searches, invitation and attendance logistics for the National Science Board, science officials from Federal agencies, and representatives of U.S. and international science communities. Additionally, SA provided external organizational and implementation support, produced executive summaries and detailed transcripts of workshop discussions; and developed task force reports at the end of all workshops, including wrap-up activities. These documents served as in-house documents for the NSBO, and will be used to inform the taskforce for further deliberations. The workshops are held in the United States, Singapore and Europe, from late 2006 - 2007.
