SA has supported the Defense Science Board (DSB) since 1986. The DSB is a federal advisory board which reports to and is tasked by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics as well as being tasked by the Secretary, Deputy Secretary of Defense and Congress. In supporting the DSB, SA has been exposed to a large volume of information pertaining to national and homeland security issues. Specifically, SA has supported task forces that have addressed organizational (e.g., stability operations), policy (e.g., transition to and from hostilities, human resources; DoD roles and missions in homeland security), science and technology (e.g., space based radar, high performance microchip supply, defense science and technology) issues for the DoD.
